The true mark of a great leader is their ability to create and empower more leaders. A good leader is someone who knows how to effectively delegate work that gives other people a chance to use their skills and knowledge for their personal and professional growth. An amazing example of this is when Sugriva sends Hanuman to Lanka to find out the whereabouts of Ma Sita.

In this chaupai, Sugriva asks Hanuman to visit down South to find out about Sita’s condition in Lanka. It is worth noting here that Sugriva only tells Hanuman about the task without giving any further instructions for planning and execution. He doesn’t try to micromanage His trip by delivering instructions about the mode of transport or tactics about entering Lanka. By doing so, Sugriva gives Hanuman a chance to develop and use His own leadership and communication skills for the accomplishment of the task. While Sugriva knew that Hanuman will face challenges in crossing the sea and entering another kingdom but He leaves it to Hanuman to deal with. By showing His trust in Him, He has set a profound example of true leadership.
Yesterday on National Panchayati Raj day, Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the sarpanches of various Gram Panchayats in Bharat. His efforts to address them weren’t just limited to honor and remember the tradition of Panchayati Raj in Bharat. He used this wonderful occasion to encourage and empower the leaders working at the grass-root level of the world’s largest democracy. The Prime Minister said the “Progress of Panchayats will ensure the development of the nation and democracy”. During his interaction with the sarpanchs PM complimented the villages for giving the mantra – ‘Do gaj doori’ to define social distancing in simpler terms.

His message was strong and clear. It was an open call to the Sarpanches to use their skills and power to ensure the smooth functioning of their respective villages. He encouraged each of them to boost health and hygiene campaigns in their villages and ensure every single family is covered under it. As a leader, Modiji identified that Sarpanches can prove to be His best leaders who can plan and execute the decisions of the centre at the very subtle level where the need is urgent. His style of leadership has set an example of the importance of empowerment of every leader working at different levels in a nation especially in the time of crisis.

Panchayati Raj system has been the strength of the democratic system in Bharat from ages. It complements the democratic setup of the country by decentralising the power and ensuring every section of the society is involved in a way that contributes to the successful functioning. In the present condition where the basic needs of the country are hugely dependent on the villages and farmers, it’s important to ensure that they are properly taken care of. Modiji’s interaction with the Sarpanches carried this idea strong and loud. His interaction wasn’t limited to words. He ensured that these leaders have the right kind of resources to appropriately deal with the situation. With the launch of two new projects, e-Gram Swaraj and Swamitva Yojana, the work being done at Gram Panchayat level will not just become simpler but will ensure transparency as well.
With His incredible leadership, power, parakram, Modiji has set new parameters of leadership where empowerment and unity are core principles to thrive through a crisis. What an incredible leader and leadership!

Very nicely the blog writer Shrishti has brought out the iconic leadership of Modi ji.In my opinion Modi ji uses social media in relation to his positive outlook as well as his programme for the betterment of commoners in such a way that makes even the commonest person feel elated & touches the core of his heart. He is the man who really should be there to save us & the nation.

  3. I would like to add here that True Leaders keep themselves updated with latest Technological Innovations, and attach great importance in connecting with youth. Many Leaders might have been great in their own sense but failed to act and think like youth of that time and hence the disconnect. Also Leaders like Vajpayee never used latest gadgets themselves and at times used to Spund out of Sync with youth of their time.Modi invites love ,affection from all ages asHe knows what to talk, where to talk, with whom to talk?

  6. The irony is that in a country of 1.3 billion people, there are only a few that understand the highly appreciable work that is being done by our Prime Minister. However, as you quite clearly mentioned in the article that PM Modi is doing his best to bring out the leadership qualities in others, which is commendable. I wish more people would see the good that he or his leadership is doing to our country. Very well expressed.
